PERFORMA 09
PERFORMA is a biennale of Performance that takes place in New York. Each session brings performance artist from all around the world. From classic to edgy from installations to empty space, from water to stars. All imaginable possibilities. Three weeks of creativity and madness. Wonderful. This year I was assigned to photograph some of the PERFORMA events. Here I share a sample. Take your time for a nice tour through the present performa art.

Color 39 session

I'm starting a series of Beauty shots to warm up the winter. I'm trying different retouching styles and adding some lines of color to play with compositions. For this shot I worked with a great Make Up Artist named Jarrett. He's super cool, fun, easy going and talented. You cannot ask more. You can see some of his work at www.jarrettbrandonartistry.com
Our Model was Stanislava, an amazing Russian beauty as you can see in the images. Great energy and wonderful to photograph. She just arrived to N.Y. a few months ago and I'm sure she'll have a great modeling career.
I will be shooting through all December so keep near to see all the new work.

Machine Sound and Cinema-PErformance Pictures

This is is from a series of photographs documenting some of the PERFORMA biennial. The man had a Sound MAchine which is a copy of the sound Machines from the 20's of last Century. He would move the handles to make sounds that follow the images. Quite an interesting experience.

Paradise Gonzalez
This was almost a guerrilla style shoot. Very little time and lot's of models. There were 11 models for the whole session and we had to shoot in less than three hours. Gosh. Fortunately all the girls of the group are super nice and fun to work with. And we came out with some great images.

Today's work. Leah Shesky is a talented actress singer with beautiful features. She's easy going and an amazing person to work with. We had lots of fun during the session and ended up with beautiful photos.

Mexico city
The Start
1...2...3... Testing... It's a lovely thursday morning, cup of coffee and e mailing included. Waiting for the confirmations for tomorrows shooting. Some days are just that, waiting, preparing, getting ready. Because the next day you wake up surrounded by lights, microphones, cables, art directors and models, and your mind has to be ready, your eyes wide open, your hand steady. That will make the beautiful photograph.
